The best of the fishing is in the lower sixty miles of river Dee, from Ballater down to Peterculter, to the west of Aberdeen, although there is some excellent fishing on the higher beats up as far as Braemar, including such famous names as Balmoral, Invercauld and Abergeldie. The fishery will be stocked again this week with more doubles also going in. The middle and top ponds will be available as normal to anglers for routine fishing. Fish were caught in every session and each one of the 10 anglers caught at least one. The pond is cordoned off into six zones which can each take a single angler, or a group from the same household. Normal fishery rules - no boobies, snake flies and fabs only on a floater or midge tip line. Catch statistics of these beats can also be checked through FishDee. There have been some caenis and sedge hatches in the evenings and when the flies are coming off the fish are duly rising.
